Water
In the Garden
- Wash up in a bowl and put the washing up water on your plants. They don't mind the soapsuds at all. (However there is some concern regarding the non bio-degradable chemicals in washing liquid. Do your own research.)
- Keep a bowl in your kitchen sink to collect all the water that would have gone down the sink (i.e. when you fill a glass and rinse it first, or rinse a dish off, or wash your hands, drain cooking water or don't finish a drink of squash or water). Put this on your plants.
- Have at least 2 water butts!
- When times get really dry, use bathwater on your plants. A couple of buckets and it really doesn't take long.
- Water plants and veg in the evening, so that the water doesn't evaporate away
- Put a bowl in your bathroom sink to collect water you've washed your hands in for the garden.
