For all homemade gifts, get into the habit of collecting bits and bobs. For example, collect pine cones and acorns in the autumn, cheap vases to paint, scraps of bright material for decorating things.
- Glass painting. Expensive outlay to buy the paints, but they last ages. You don't have to be artistic, just use simple shapes and designs. Look for cheap glass vases etc to paint in charity shops, sales and pound shops.
- Silk painting. As above, expensive outlay for paints but you can have good results with no real artistic skill! Silk isn't that cheap, but you don't need much.
- Pottery painting
- Lavender sachets - maybe with silk painted sachets?
- Home made toiletries - bath salts, bath bombs etc
- Hand quited/sewn cushion covers - maybe using a silk painting as a centre feature?
- Dried flower bouquets - lavender is nice to include. Tie with pretty ribbon or put in a (painted?!) vase
- Covered notebooks - either cover with pre-bought material of your choice (have a look in the offcuts section) or with painted silk. Buy really cheap hard backed notepads.
- Home made jewellery - you can buy beads etc online but be careful as they often come out more expensive than you think!
- Hem some material to make a set of table napkins (plus table cloth if you're adventurous!)
